Robert, thank you so much for your response, and for sharing the story of your conversation with your grandfather. What a horrifying thing to witness. And then your grandfather would have had to go over the top next regardless. I think that aspect of the trenches in WWI is graphically communicated in this film. As you say, no good ever comes of war.
